Music producer and record label since 1982
Miquel Àngel Sancho founded the Xocolat record store 42 years ago, an oasis in the music distribution in Mallorca. This is how the Blau label was born."Joana Lluna", by Joan Bibiloni, was the first album published by the Majorcan label in 1982, it was followed by editions with Jorge Pardo, Kevin Ayers and essentially Balearic artists of all styles with Tomeu Penya, Maria del Mar Bonet or Antònia Font. Seven years later, they created together with other partners in Barcelona DiscMedi, the label responsible together with Blau for the emergence of pop-rock in Catalan and international productions with some Latin Grammy nominations such as "Cuba canta a Serrat" and " Tierra de Calma" by Miguel Poveda. Blue meant the opening of a window to the phonographic world for the creators of the Balearic Islands. Today, with close to 800 published titles and despite the change in the music listening model that has called the physical format into question, we continue to bet on new musical talents and adapt to the new ways of projecting their music. The incorporation of a generational relief such as Anita Sancho is essential, adding her academic preparation to more than 40 years of experience.
